Title

Memories in Nature

Materials and Techniques

Fabric, book board, watercolor paper, black artist paper, watercolor, micron pen, embroidery thread

All my favorite childhood memories took place in nature. Whether it was fishing up the canyon with my dad, hiking with my family, or making fairy houses out of found objects with my cousin, nature has always been a constant source of peace in my life.
Throughout the creation of this book, I wanted to capture the childhood whimsy and joy that I find in spending time outside. I wanted the imagery to feel like it came out of a children's book, so I used a variety of mediums in my illustrations to add a feeling of playfulness. This book represents the joy and whimsy that spending time in nature brings to me.
