Kaeli Schmuhl

Three strands of fishing line suspend a series of handmade mini‑books. The covers feature eight illustrations of the houses I lived in, and eight poems recalling childhood memories from each of those places, distributed across the lines. Every book is constructed from vellum pages and bound with waxed string using simple stab binding. The combination of the specialty covers and poems in addition to a few blank books creates a layered record of home and childhood memory.
