Title

Goodnight Sweet Dreams

Materials and Techniques

Cotton fabric, glass beads, embroidery thread, davey board (cover)
watercolor, watercolor paper (pages); twill tape, waxed linen, satin ribbon (binding/spine)

Being tucked into bed, stuffed animals, bedtime stories, and giving a kiss goodnight. These are the things that brought me comfort when it was time to sleep, this was the ritual that my parents developed for us to try and stave off nightmares.

This book combines this ritual, those things of comfort, and the things that follow. A quilted cover to represent a blanket, a handmade doll to represent my mountain of stuffed animals, and twenty one poems each with their own illustration to represent bedtime stories. Each of these illustrations and poems are pulled from childhood dreams that I collected from those around me and recalled from my own memories.
